All About See-Through

All About See-Through

Once upon a time, I would not have dared wear anything see-through. Really. The farther I could get was wearing a white top over a black bra. Not so bold indeed. Not something we could call transparent. Actually, I bought my first see through piece a few months ago. It was an embroidered mesh top from boohoo that I thought was really cool. As I had seen a lot of women and bloggers wearing such a type of top, I had decided to go for it.

This top was my first of a (not yet so big) collection of see-through fashion pieces. I got a few others tops and dresses and I could not get enough. As I was in Normandy on a holiday, I spent some time with Kirsty. Having one of these tops in my suitcase, I decided to style it and have a photoshoot around it. So here we are.

This looks is really basic but I quite like it. The top has some lovely embroidered details: little roses and vines. I styled it with a pair of distressed jeans and some light grey high heels. I have had these heels for quite a long time and decided it was time to make use of them! They add a little chic touch to this outfit. Accessory wise, a really classic black bag, a bangle and a watch and of course, some shades!

I think this is a really summary look. Yet, it would still work at the beginning of fall but I am not sure see-through tops are comfy and warm enough for colder temperature. Maybe with another top underneath. Why not. Anyway, it was a really easy look to pull together and a nice way to wear a transparent top. At least to me. I think wearing really revealing clothes is all about confidence and also not giving a sh*t about what other might think. And it’s liberating.

I really like this outfit! I have to be honest, I just bought a see-through top similar to this and it’s the first one I’ve ever owned. I usually try to avoid them because I never feel confident enough. But I really feel like getting out of my comfort zone and it was really cute. I haven’t worn it out yet, but I think reading this post has encouraged me!

Damn, girl! You look absolutely amazing and so confident in these pics, if you hadn’t written about your reservations about wearing a see-through top, I’d never have guessed! I think the sheer fabric adds a really classy and sophisticated air to a regular jeans-and-tee combo, you’re rocking it!

Those tiny roses onthe top are absolutely beautiful! I love this whole outfit and kudos to you for embracing the sheer trend! I’m not sure I could get away with it out here, since it’s so cold for most of the year! I’d freeze :(.

Hi, what a pretty top, I wouldn’t have the guts to wear it without a cami underneath but it is nice causal or with smart trousers.

Oh gosh that shirt is gorgeous. I don’t know if I am quite brave enough but you make it look brilliant!!! πŸ˜ƒ

I love this look! It reminds me of Anastacia’s Caught In The Middle video-as she wears a similar shirt. I’m not sure I would be confident enough to wear this look, though!

Ooooh I love that top and think it would be so perfect for the change in the weather we have going into fall. Great look!!!

Lovely outfit – it really suits you. I probably wouldn’t wear a see through top without a bralet underneath but maybe on holiday, somewhere warm and abroad!

This is such a well put together outfit and I love how well it goes with the shoes! I have never worn a see through piece myself but after seeing them become more commonplace I think I would be willing to go for it some time in the future. Mesh tops in particular look really fun to style!

This looks so good on you, but I’d be waaaay to insecure to wear a shirt like that. I barely dare to wear a crop top, hahaha.

I think it looks great and totally on trend. Sadly, many women are worried that their bodies don’t look good enough for it, me included! But you are inspiring me to give it a go!

The embroidery of this top is stunning! I don’t personally wear see through clothing as I don’t feel comfortable with it (and yet I don’t mind a bikini, go figure), but I admire those that have the confidence to!

  22. October 10, 2017 / 5:59 pm

I have seen some see-through dresses lately and I am not going to lie, I kind of, sort of, LOVE THEM. But then when I put them on… HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, I can’t pull them off.

  23. October 10, 2017 / 7:26 pm

This is a pretty top and you look great in it. I’m not sure if I’d feel comfortable in it, but it it is lovely.

I am cool with see-through, but not for my “day job”. This would be super cute to rock in a day out with the girls or an evening out. I, personally, would be self-conscious until I lose about 20 pounds, but I see this trend becoming more and more popular for sure.

I love the mesh top with floral embroidery trend. I saw a similar one in white and still wondering why didn’t I just buy it. We can always layer underneath.

You look great in it. Here it’s not so warm so you can’t wear it anymore. I think I would know some people who would have liked to wear it.

  28. October 11, 2017 / 10:09 am

Sometimes using see through clothes are very vulgar or too revealing. Judging your photos, you carried it well with confidence. Good job!

  29. October 11, 2017 / 10:54 am

I love the top, it’s really cute and looks great on you. I don’t think I would wear a see through top right now though, maybe a few years ago when I was in better shape.

  30. October 11, 2017 / 2:58 pm

that top looks so cute on you. it’s perfect with those jeans!

  31. October 11, 2017 / 5:56 pm

I’ve only dared to wear a see through top with a camisole inside and never with a bra. Its not easy to carry off, but you totally rock the look! Stunning.

First am totally digging your handbag! Now to the funky outfit, you are rocking it! One day when my midriff gets smaller lol! I may actually be inspired by your courage and try something see-through…

  40. October 17, 2017 / 1:45 am

Looks really cute on you – especially the flower details that are subtle that add interest. I don’t wear see through stuff myself, but it’s a possibility at the beach πŸ™‚ Sounds cool for summer and warm weather months.

  41. October 18, 2017 / 3:01 am

Cute outfit! For now, I can’t dare to wear a see-through shirt. You’re so brave!

  42. October 18, 2017 / 1:53 pm

Awesome! See through is a bit difficult to rock but you did it. Very nicely accessorized look as well.

  43. October 19, 2017 / 5:29 am

Loved the outfit but damn the sunglasses and the hairstyle are awesome xp, you look so pretty :))

You look great in the see-through top! You have a beautiful torso and you should flaunt it more. The whole getup suits you. I miss those days when I wore see-through tops as well. I really should try to lose weight again. Hehehe.
