5 Foundations We Love

5 Foundations We Love

Each skin is different. Finding the right foundation for you is always hard. We know, we’ve been there too! Hunting for years, trying everything before finding THE one! To help you in your search, if you haven’t found the right one yet, we put together this list of our five favorite foundations!

1. Flawless Skin Foundation 14h | Yves Rocher – £25
I have been using this foundation for quite a while now. My skin is naturally tanned but my cheeks are always a bit red. I sometimes like to hide it, especially in winter. The coverage is medium to low but it is perfect if that’s what you’re looking for. The foundation stays on all day, as stated on the bottle. So promise delivered. My skin is always hydrated and never damaged after I remove it so really, it’s a good buy to me! And it is currently on sale with 50% off! – C

2. Unlimited Foundation SPF 15 | Kiko Cosmetics – £14.90
I had used this foundation for a really long time before switching to Yves Rocher’s. There simply was not a Kiko store near to my home while there was Yves Rocher, which is also were I always go for body treatments. I have always been satisfied with this foundation. It has a good coverage: the redness of my cheeks was never visible after application. Application and removal was quite easy. Only few drops of liquid were enough to cover any flaws of the skin. This foundation comes in so many shades that there is something for all skin colors! – C

3. Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation SPF 15 | Vichy – £20
Having an acne prone skin, or at least a skin that used to give me a lot of bother I have tried multiple foundations. Always with the hope of finding the perfect one. The one that would give me enough coverage, last all day and not cost me an arm. After 8 years I have finally found THE one! The Vichy Dermabled! I love the formula, the coverage is perfect! And a tube lasts forever.. Honestly I buy one every 6 months or so and that even when I wear it everyday. Trust me if you have an imperfect skin, this foundation is the best in terms of promise and price 🙂 -K

4. Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation SPF 10 | Clarins – £29
This is the first foundation I have ever had. I was about fifteen years old, going to one of my cousins’ wedding and I had pierced a black head on my nose the day before. As you may have guessed, it didn’t go away nor healed. Instead, it went all dry and brown. Not so charming. When my mum and I were looking for a solution, a beauty adviser in our local beauty store applied some of the Clarins foundation on my nose and the result was astonishing. So my mum bought me the bottle and I was able to hide the disaster from everybody. A good story, a good lesson (never pop pimples before a wedding) and a great foundation! -C

5. Garnier BB Cream with SPF 50 | Garnier – £15.99
Now that my skin is a lot better (I only have a spot when ever it’s that time of the month again) and that we are starting to get really hot weather in France I’ve swapped my Vichy foundation for a BB cream. This also has an very high SPF which is perfect for my ghost skin tone 😀 -K

What do you think? Have you ever tried any of these foundations? Which one do you use?

We hope you loved this post. Thanks for reading.

See you soon!
Love,

Corinne & Kirsty

It’s lovely to see a big mix of budget and higher end products in this post! I don’t usually wear foundation, just concealer, but my sister is actually in the market for a new one at the moment and I think the Vichy one you’ve mentioned here would be perfect for her, so I’ll pass that on to her! Fab post!

I haven’t tried any of these foundations. I’ve been really into trying new ones and currently I’m using Loreal Paris Infallible one and I really love it. xo

  10. May 17, 2017 / 7:37 pm

This is such a useful post for me as I’m looking for a new foundation and haven’t tried any of these. I literally find that my foundation is melting off my skin, i need something that’s long lasting!

  11. May 17, 2017 / 7:45 pm

Haven’t heard of some of these, I think Kiko might be the only one that maybe doesn’t test on animals though so that’s a shame!

  12. May 17, 2017 / 7:59 pm

Foundation can be so hard to get right and sometimes, you find the perfect match and then your skin changes!
I always make sure I have a good selection of foundations/creams to choose from.

I haven’t used any of the ones you mentioned but a couple have been added to my list (I didn’t even know Kiko did a foundation!) x

  13. May 17, 2017 / 7:59 pm

love the sound of the kiko foundation, not a bad price either! I currently use loreal true match, and I really like it, but I’m always keeping my eye out for something better. Great post ;D

It is so so hard to find the right foundation for your skin! For me personally my skin is constantly changing, one day is sensitive the next it’s combo so it can be hard to find something that kind of does it all. I’ve been loving Estee Lauder’s double wear the past few months but I’m definitely due for a change so will have to check some of these out!

Thanks for the heads up lovies!

Finding the right foundation that works well with your skin type and your coloring can be difficult. I’ve never tried these brands you have featured. I’m a Luminess girl myself.

  17. May 18, 2017 / 5:59 am

Interesting, I don’t use foundation, but this is good to know for photo shoots.

  18. May 18, 2017 / 12:45 pm

I always go into Kiko and pick something up, but I never actually buy anything, this might finally have to change! X

  19. May 18, 2017 / 1:50 pm

This is the perfect post for me right now, the timing couldn’t be any better, haha! I’ve stopped using foundation because 1. It is so hot in this country right now and only going to get hotter so foundation isn’t a great feeling when you’re sweating hahaha, and 2. because the foundation I currently use is no longer working for me. I love the sound of 3,4 and 5, they sound perfect for my skin. I will have to do more research and invest in one of them over summer. To be honest though, lately I have been loving the freedom of having fresh skin with no foundation, and just let me skin breathe a little, and it’s definitely helped my skin a lot!
Thank you so much for this helpful post, I will have to get my hands on one of them soon!

Foundation is one of the hardest things about make-up. These look like some really great options!

I really like Garnier BB Cream. It is light and has a good SPF in it. This is a great roundup.

  34. May 20, 2017 / 4:04 am

I really hate my foundation I use right now. It’s great to read your suggestions and maybe I’ll finally switch.

  35. May 20, 2017 / 5:41 am

I’ve never tried any of these products, but I’m only just getting back into cosmetics after a 15-year break. Right now I’m using Boots #7 stuff which is fab. 🙂

I am looking for a new brand and products that can suit to my face. This is very useful!

  37. May 20, 2017 / 11:21 am

This is so great! It’s always difficult for me to find a perfect foundation because I have very patchy skin but I think I will give some of these a go. 🙂

  38. May 20, 2017 / 3:07 pm

I never use none of those before my favourite foundations are Loreal pro fallable and maybelline fit me

  39. May 20, 2017 / 5:24 pm

I’ve never used any of these foundations but some sound amazing, I used to struggle with finding the perfect foundation for my skin tone/type but now I use No7 Flawless Matte in the lightest shade and it’s perfect 🙂

  40. May 20, 2017 / 6:30 pm

I’ve not used any of those foundations but I’ve just recently started using a Smashbox foundation that lasts up to 15hrs which is really good 😊

  41. May 20, 2017 / 7:01 pm

I’ve never worn any of these foundations, however I’ve heard good reviews about clarins and vinchy. I just need to get myself to boots!
I keep seeing seeing these products and think-wow

  42. May 20, 2017 / 10:28 pm

I really need a good foundation so I’ll have to check some of these out. thanks for recommending things that are actually affordable!

  43. May 21, 2017 / 1:56 am

I love to mix my Garnier bb cream with a few drops of my L’oreal foundation. Since I deal with acne and blemishes, BB cream alone doesn’t provide the coverage I like but mixing the two works really well for me !

  44. May 21, 2017 / 10:38 am

I was so happy to see the Garnier BB cream on this list because that’s what I use! Sometimes I feel like I should maybe try a foundation to have more coverage ecc but at the end of the day I’m quite blessed not to have skin imperfection so the BB cream is perfect because it gives you a natural color, it isn’t too shiny and it hydrates your skin, which for me is really important!
I’ll check out the others as well 🙂

Thanks for the tips – I usually use Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser instead of foundation, but also love Kevyn Aucoin foundations because they are so light.

  46. May 21, 2017 / 2:38 pm

Love all things Vichy there products are so amazing and not filled with the parabens etc like so many others, perfect for sensitive skin.

Women love beauty products especially foundations. I have a friend who has like 5 kinds of foundations with her every time we go out. Add the number of lipsticks, liners, and those colorful makeup.

Foundation is the bane of my existence! Currently I use a tinted moisturizer from Physicians Formula, but I hate how it feels by the end of the day! I need to try something new — thanks for this list!
